I’m Published! Canadian Cowboy Country Dream Issue

When I got the call from Canadian Cowboy Country’s Editor Extraordinaire, Terri Mason, requesting that I submit photos for the (click On Dec-Jan Weddings to see a PDF of the issueDec-Jan Weddings Dream Issue of the magazine, I was honoured and excited to participate.  It didn’t take me long to know that the wedding to submit was that of Jed and Tiffany Downie of Willingdon, Alberta.

Jed and Tiff had a lovely rural ranch wedding right on the Downie homestead.  Every little detail was perfect – from the twinkle lights high in the rafter of the machine shed (the reception site) to the rig mats that elevated a stage to hold the head table and then, when dinner was over, doubled as a dance floor.

The details were well-planned and executed, and the outdoor reception site was complete with a firepit and lights for the warm summer evening reception.

Since Tiff’s horses are so important to the couple, they knew they had to have their sunset photos include their quarter horse herd.  Of course, with my long history in the horse world, I was more than happy to oblige them and spent a good hour in the field capturing everything they wanted and more.

Congratulations Jed and Tiff – thanks for being the perfect couple and wedding to be featured in the December-January Dream Issue of Canadian Cowboy Country Magazine.  And special thanks to the team at Tanner Young Publishing – Editor,Terri Mason, Art Director, Adam Still and of course, Publishers, Rob and Marie Tanner.

Mark & Esther

Esther contacted me just a few weeks before her November 2015 wedding.  She and her fiance, Mark McDougall, said that photography was very important to them.  I told them that photography was important to me, too.  Already, we had so much in common!

As we finished the wedding session that day, I asked her about the choice of  their date.  “So, Esther, what were you thinking getting married on November 21?  It could have been a blizzard!” “I know,” giggled Esther, “but it wasn’t!”  Esther is one of those people with beautiful optimism, enthusiasm and a gorgeous smile, to match.  What a joy it was to photograph their wedding!

Here’s what the newlyweds shared on my Facebook page after they received their images:

“So, this past November Mark and I got hitched! When searching for a photographer, we wanted to find someone with a very easygoing personality to help make us feel comfortable on our wedding day. I heard through the grapevine about Nancy. We asked Nancy if she would be available to do our wedding photography and were so excited when she said she’d love to. We wanted our day to have a very rural and rustic feel and Nancy did an INCREDIBLE job of capturing exactly what we had asked for! After the ceremony Nancy took us back-roading to capture some amazing Alberta landscape (off the beaten trail). We couldn’t be happier with the photos she gave us and we highly recommend her services to anyone looking for a quality photographer that can produce exactly what you’re hoping for.”

Thanks a million Nancy!
Love Esther & Mark

Thank YOU, Mr. & Mrs McDougall!!
