When Shar Puhallo contacted me to photograph her marriage to Mitch Wauters, I was honoured and a bit nervous. What Shar didn’t know when she called, was that I knew her late father, Mike Puhallo – a very well respected and much-loved cowboy and historian in the Kamloops area. My association with Mike was during my term as associate publisher of Canadian Cowboy Country – and he was a regular contributor. I remember so well him bragging about his little girl Sharlene who was off at Ryerson in Toronto to get her degree. Mike was so proud – because his little girl, truly is, a rocket scientist. Shar, I know you make your dad proud, and I know he would very much approve of your Mitch.
